‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ rules the box office again with $25.75 million weekend

Disney(LOS ANGELES) — Ralph Breaks the Internet spent its second week at number one, topping a slow post-Thanksgiving box office with an estimated $25.75 million. The animated feature’s earnings stateside now stand at just under $120 million, while adding an estimated $33.7 million overseas. It’s grabbed a total of $120 million worldwide.

The Grinch moves up a notch to second place this week, bringing in an estimated $17.7 million. It marks the eighth out of Illumination’s nine films to top $200 million here in the states.

Dropping to third place in its second week of release was Creed II, taking in an estimated $16.8 million, bringing its domestic totals to upwards of $81 million. The sequel to 2015’s Creed and the latest in the Rocky franchise delivered an estimated $10 million internationally.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald ;landed in fourth, earning an estimated $11.2 million in its third week of release to boost its totals here in the states to just under $135 million. The sequel to 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hasn’t lost its magic overseas, however, where it topped all other films with an estimated $40 million take. Its worldwide totals now stand at just under $520 million.

Bohemian Rhapsody rounded out the top five, earning an estimated $8.1 million and bringing its stateside totals to almost $165 million. Internationally, the Queen biopic tacked on another $37 million, and is approaching $539 million worldwide.

The weekend’s only new major release, the sci-fi horror flick The Possession of Hannah, beat expectations with $6.5 million haul, but settled for a seventh place finish.

Finally, The zombie musical Anna and the Apocalypse, consisting of a mostly British cast, had a respectable debut, delivering an estimated $50,163 from five theaters.
